That's weird because the e-mails are forwarded from a government
laboratory and three well-known universities that are not likely to be
blacklisted.

There's something seriously weird with my gmail service that must
originate in their servers because I have trouble with gmail on two
separate computers and on my iPhone, so it cannot just be a browser

What probably happened is that the reputation of the server doing the
forwarding took a hit. Perhaps it was abused by spammers in some way.
This then makes it much more likely that mail forwarded from that
server will be marked as spam by gmail.

I don't really have a specific solution for you. You can use a filter

--the problem on this thread is about spam staying in the Inbox, and
NOT getting sorted into the spam folder.

Ooops, I didn't notice the date of that article!

The false positive e-mails are forwarded from non-gmail addresses.

My gmail address is the default address, and my work address is
mentioned absolutely no where in my gmail/google life... see the below
screenshots. I have other addresses listed for various reasons, some
yahoo accounts and mac accounts, but not my work account, which is a
wholly different domain. This is indeed very mysterious.

I've seen some similar post but no solution.

My problem is simple.
I have a gmail account, which I subscribed to my google groups
account.
I can send a new message to the google groups account and it gets
posted successfully.

Hi,

scenario:
* you have your own domain "domain"
* You specify email forwarding for user A@domain -> A@gmail
* You specify email forwarding for user B@domain -> B@gmail
* User A let's Gmail know you can send email as A@domain
* User B let's Gmail know you can send email as B@domain
* Confirmation mails received & approved

Here's one thats even better. I have a yahoo address that I use for
foolishness and the like so that I won't get overloaded with spam in
my personal Gmail box. I have the spam filter turned off so that I can
mark them as such directly from my inbox. Low and behold, I hardly
ever get any junk delivered there like the few a day I get with Gmail.
