Subject: Activity tracker - Sorry, this gadget uses the inlining feature, which is no longer supported.
Hi, There are lots of users using Activity Tracker Gadget. (http://
www.google.com/ig/directory?hl=en&type=gadgets&url=screeperzone.googl...)

Suddenly this gadget displays "Sorry, this gadget uses the inlining
feature, which is no longer supported."

I know that inline feature is no longer supported for new gadgets. But
already existing gadget can continue to use this feature right ?.

Can you please let me know why my gadget is having this issue ? it
been on Igoogle for almost more than a year without any issues.

Thanks,
Mahin

Hi,

Google had announced they plan to phase out inline gadgets for non-
Google developed gadgets and while they did allow it for existing
inline gadgets at the time they had stated they plan to increased the
threshold over time for disabling gadgets that were previously allowed
giving developers who used them time to convert them over to non-
inlined gadgets. It sounds like they may have bumped this threshold up
again causing yours to no longer run/work. So, even though yours may
have worked before Googles long term plans were to eliminate all non-
Google developed inlined gadgets over time.

Only a Googler can confirm if this is the case though. (that they
increased the threshold again)

Regards,
Vision Jinx

As I understood, Google had said they will phase out INACTIVE gadgets
and will continue to support existing active gadgets that use inline.
And that they will no longer support inlining for NEW gadgets. The
gadgets that I developed are active with users AND is not new. It has
been around for more than 1 year.

And again, Google could have at least sent me an email saying you have
X days to remove your inline gadget. Then I could have given my users
an option to export their data and import their sensitive data in to a
newer version . (or)  probably develop  a new gadget that can handle
this condition.

I understand Google is under no obligation as it is free.. but again,
these are the small things that Google can do to keep their users
happy.  I really hope Google can bring back my gadget so that users
who have their critical timesheet data can retrieve their information.
