I have a T-mobile Samsung T809 and was able to successfully download the Google Maps for Mobile onto my phone. However, when I go to run the program it gives me this error message:
"This program can't get maps or anything until you grant it permission to send and receive the data over the network."
The problem is I don't have the option to give it permission thru the existing screen and when I go to change the network preferences it doesn't make a difference. Does anyone know how to solve this problem???

That sounds like an issue with the phone, not the network. My K700i simply prompts me whether to allow network access each time an application attempts to access the network for the first time since it was launched. Of course, with applications like Opera Mini, I'd really rather authorize it just once instead of having to answer that question over and over again...
You might want to call Samsung support and ask them about this.

Hey DC
I have the same t-mobile t809 phone, and the same thing has happend to me on the faq page on the google mobile it says that it does not suport t-mobile US phones. im just hopeing that some time in the near future they might suport t-mobile, in the meantime were out of luck if you haven't already try the google moble SMU (i think thats the aprivation) it's a pretty cool little feature also, and it works on every phone that can send and resive text messages.
I called Samsung and emailed Google. Samsung doesn't offer support for 3rd party phones and Google Maps for mobile doesn't not yet support the T809 platform, but they said check back for updates.
I hope they get the support for this soon, I would love google maps to work on my T809. Im glad the first topic I found was this I didnt even have to search for it. Also I have the exact same problem, just to note.
