Creative arts versus performance arts

Creative arts versus performance arts... is this a distinction we can work with?

At first glance, it may seem like a song is created by those who compose it, arrange it, write lyrics.

A performer will practice playing instruments and rehearse for a performance.

However, this does not mean that only the composer or textwriter was creative. In fact, it requires a lot of creativity to be a good performer. Also, a singer/songwriter may perform using work written long ago, but revitalising it at the performance, giving it new angles. Also, many musicians, actors and other artists love to perform live and improvise.

So, how helpful is a disctinction between creative arts and performing arts?

Love to get some comments!

I've been involved with a lot of whats called"performance art" so
there isn't a differance as far as I'm concerned.
