Obama is a American that all can be proud of.
He is part FDR and pat JFK.
And I have lived long enought to know all three of these Americans.
One a Protestant, one a Catholic and one an Afro-American. America is truely
a melting pot.

Interesting comment made by one of our (Oz) political commentators in
the US.
That - many Americans are stating that they will vote for Obama because
they don't want to appear racist.  In actual fact they will not vote for
him.  Although he appears to be the 'people's choice' he could fail.

I have been polical for over fifty years,
I have stood out front of 100's of polling places.
I became an expert at slipping Democratic ligiture into a Republican hand.
While eye balling the person I would slip the paper into his hand. The
person would take three or foue steps look at the paper make as he would
throw it on the ground then eye me and slip it into his pocket and give me a
silly grin.
There is a racist tendacy among the less educated Americans. But those born
after 1970 are less motivated towards racism.
And they are the ones mostly voting for Obama.
Remember Bush had two high profile afro-Americans in his adminisration. To
be fair to Bush that helped pave the way for Obama.
