That's still nice.  I am reminded about the benefits of walking a
dog--or just walking, as you are doing.

That's sweet, Bob.  I agree that even the smallest things can end
up having a profound impact on one's life.

Oh I do like that Gordon, what a lovely idea. Over the years I have made
some wonderful friends just walking the dogs. Some I meet regularly but
only out walking, others have become really close friends. All of them
would, if it ever became necessary, take care of my dogs and I would
know they would have the very best of care, and love.
There are so many benefits to be had from walking regularly, especially
the same route, not just to ones health and well-being but socially it
is uplifting.

Not sure anyone would stop to pick up a hanky with all the worry of
Swine flu about. Even a lace edged one.

I have one of those "grab aids" I could have picked it up with, but the
gesture is so antiquated these days.

You don't want to know what I picked up in Etherow yesterday!
I chose to do a litter-picking tour as a change from burning Rhodies,
and I found a white thong in one of the shelters, where I usually feed
and watch the birds.
I didn't save it, because I don't know which of you it would fit.

It went into the litter bin along with the bagful of other stuff I
collected.

LOL!  I wouldn't let anybody stop me from that trip.

Our acquaintance did improve a bit yesterday, but he wasn't home when I
walked by today.

I decided not to mention the two bundles of disposable nappies.
I can't imagine what kind of folk just dump them alongside the paths in
a country park.     There are baby-changing facilities at the visitor
centre, in both male and female lavatories.     :-(

Indeed.  We get disposable nappies left at our gate onto the road all the
time - filthy sods.

We also get people climbing over our front gate to go to the toilet in the
trees near the road.  Our house is set a long way back from the road but if
I am gardening and see anyone doing this, I jog down the track and then yell
at them when they have their pants down around their ankles.  It can be
quite funny sometimes.

Last time we were overseas, our daughter came to do the checks and routine
maintenance and found 2 men in our bottom paddock (field) hitting golf balls
around.   She sent them off with a flea in their ear but God klnows why they
would want to do that given that the paddock is what you Brits would call
'rough grazing'.  It's more like getting into the rough than a fairway.

We're seeing that more and more here.  Racists swear it's illegal aliens
(Mexicans) that do it.  I'm sure they're part of the problem.  I'm also sure
they're not the only ones doing it.  It began when society switched from
washable diapers to the disposables.  Now no one wants to carry a soiled
diaper any further than they have to.
