I'm so glad to hear it.  I used a film she made named, "Iris", to
demonstrate to my students what Alzheimer's Disease does to a person and
relationship.  I bought the DVD, and still like to watch it.

She does a full range of characters, but has  her own trademark.

I'm presently reading a book about a German upper class family, although I
suspect they may not all be upper class when the book ends.  It's "The
Buddenbrooks", by Thomas Mann.  It's the kind of novel I like best.  It
covers four generations, and goes on for 600+ pages.  I become totally
immersed, and hate to come to the end.

I first saw him when he appeared briefly in The Bill.  Quite a different
part to Doc Martin.

That's the fellow who wrote Death in Venice. The book or novella was
made into a film starring Dirk Bogarde.
