No one will ever accuse a Saudi Judge of being soft on child molesters.

Saudi court upholds child rapist crucifixion ruling
Tue Nov 3, 2009 2:22pm
RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi court of cassation upheld a ruling to behead
and crucify a 22-year-old man convicted of raping five children and
leaving one of them to die in the desert, newspapers reported on Tuesday.

The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy
helped police in their investigation. The child left in the desert after
the rape was three years old, Okaz newspaper said.

International rights groups have accused the kingdom, the birthplace of
Islam, of applying draconian justice, beheading murderers, rapists and
drug traffickers in public. So far this year about 40 people have been
executed in Saudi Arabia.

In Saudi Arabia, crucifixion means tying the body of the convict to wooden
beams to be displayed to the public after beheading.

One kids he left in the desert to die did, indeed, die, then this
would be a DP type crime in many of the states.

"Crucifixion"  is a display of the dead person.  Gruesome, but not
cruel.

When done with Dr Guilletine's invention, beheading, though messy, is
probably less cruel than the US methods of death by inject and
certainly faster and less painful than electrocution.

So, yes, this is brutal in an uncalled for way - just like the DP
usually is.

Well, same thing as the old custom of a head on a pike. Instruction for
the masses.

They also execute witches in Saudi Arabia as well:

Convicted Saudi witch to be stoned to death

Fawza Falih is sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia, having been
convicted of witchcraft in 2005. Human Rights Watch asks to stop
  her execution by stoning.

  Saturday, February 16, 2008

Witch hunting is not a thing of the past, at least not in Saudi Arabia.
A court in the oil-rich kingdom handed down a death sentence against
Fawza Falih, a woman accused of witchcraft, stunning NGO Human Rights
Watch which has reacted by appealing to Saudi King Abdullah to stop the
  execution.

The illiterate woman was detained by religious police in 2005 for
allegedly causing impotence in one of her accusers.

Ms Falih said that she was beaten and forced to fingerprint a confession
that she could not understand because she cannot read.

Saudi Arabia does not have a written criminal code and witchcraft is
not defined as a crime. Yet the Saudi court in charge of the case
passed a death sentence exercising its own discretionary powers to
protect the nation's principles, soul and identity.

For Joe Stork, Middle East director at Human Rights Watch, this case
underscores Saudi judges' inability to carry out objective criminal
  investigations.
