After loading an .avi movie from isohunt which is of 'multisub' type and
making a dvd with 'ImToo Avi To DVD' there are not any subtitles in the
movie. Is there any program better suitable for this purpose?

I often get it done via Wondershare Video to DVD Burner, which often
works perfectly for me. It can burn any format video to DVD fast without
any quality lossing, also has powerful video editing function. You can
trim/crop/customize DVD menu for the video.
