I am reading a data file but when I try to print what I already read,
it just prints the first line of the data correctly. From the second

Modern Java VMs compile Java bytecode down into native machine code. If you
believe Java's proponents, Java VMs should do even a better job than
compiled languages, since the Java VMs can use runtime metrics to choose how
to optimally compile bytecode.

Obviously checked iterators make it easier to detect defects, but i am
asking about security. By "secure" i mean resistant to malicious usage
of the application and resistant to other hostile code. I will let the
security experts define the term more precisely.

To compare fairly, did you compile the Java version with the GCC native
compiler? If not then you're comparing a native byte code program to
one running in a VM.
Although I imagine it's possible to do this within Java, or any GC'd

Well, now that the code is written, there's no need to keep this extra
baggage round. Bite the bullet, and rewrite QString into std::string (or
std::wstring).
