I need a Unix Sys Admin with 7+ years experience, very strong Solaris
skills, focusing on Solaris 10. They must have 3+ years of Solaris 10
experience and good with zones/containers, SMF, VCS/clustering experience,
any perl/shell scripting, technical troubleshooting, and any VMware ESX is a
plus. Ideal candidate will have come from large enterprise environments.
communication skills are very important in this group. Candidates need to
be very strong technically for this group. Please send me anyone you have
or can find tomorrow, the manager has tasked us with finding 2 strong
candidates by close of business Thursday.
Unix System Administrator should have 6-8+ years Experience working in a
SOLARIS (strong recent v10 experience), any Linux Red Hat experience is a
large plus, but not required. Candidate should have experience in a large
enterprise environment, predominantly working with Solaris. This group has
a lot of internal customers/clients, and this group sets up and hosts their
applications and helps build their environment. They build up the
infrastructure for it, help with installing the applications, etc. A lot of
what they do is customer facing, so communication skills are important.
They manager about 2700 servers, most of which are virtual servers (about
300 physical servers with the rest virtual and zones, some Linux servers).
They have Sun M4000’s, 5000’s, T5220’s, and on HP they have HPDL385’s,
585’s, etc. The Solaris they have is Solaris 10, from update 3 up to
current, and the Linux they have is RHEL 4 up to RHEL 5. Solaris is most
important though.
Daily tasks consist of installation, configuration, troubleshooting of Sun
Solaris and Linux Red Hat servers. Will also be responsible for monitoring
and installation of patches as needed. May provide systems integration,
including meeting with various groups to ensure that systems were installed
according to customer's specifications. Must have proven experience working
as a Unix systems administrator in a large enterprise environment with
strong Solaris 10 experience. Experience should include installation,
administration, configuration, and upgrades of large systems. Demonstrated
team experience directly administrating corporate and/or software
development Unix environments. Required strong ability to lead and
influence in a technical lead role with three to five years experience
designing, developing and deploying architecture within UNIX environments.
This is a senior level Unix System Administrator position, please only

Any professional certifications such as Sun Certified Systems Administrator,
etc, are a plus.
