Please don't change topic names via email.

I've noticed as I track a thread that all of the sudden the title gets changed. I'm not exactly sure how this happens. I'm guessing it happens when someone replies via email. If you are replying via email, please don't change the subject in the subject line, and if your replying via email make sure that it doesn't have "re:" before... more »

INABILITY TO POST AT MIND'S EYE
|
| |
I have been contacted by a couple of Mind’s Eye members and told that
they couldn’t post. Since a few have let me know this, I can only
assume the problem is more widespread than that.
I have let the other moderators know of the problem and we will
research it and keep all of you advised here.... more »

End of the Nation

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy
out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another
person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to
anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody
else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to... more »

What are you grateful for?
My list of the moment:
The arrival of one of my children next week for a few days.
Food- to cook and enjoy.
A $30. dental bill yesterday which solved a problem I thought would
cost $3,500. (I prayed to the right Tooth Fairy!)
Health, sobriety and a cheerful mood.... more »

The Public Goods Game
|

Reputation is such an effective motivator that it could help us solve
the most pressing issue we face - protecting our planet.
Environmental problems are difficult to solve because Earth is a
"public good". Even though we would all be better off if everyone
reduced their environmental impact, it is not in anyone's individual... more »

Black and White and Red all over?
|

After reading this article I was really surprised but then started to
realize that it is very similar to American attitudes of the past.

How do you think it will all play out over the next decade?

China - The Nation That Nixon Built
|
| |
Titillating title doncha think? Not entirely accurate and not a thing
to do with the article I found so interesting and am providing a link
for you to enjoy as well. I like China. I highly recommend you
encourage your kids to learn Cantonese. Even Obama realizes it's time
to pass the baton. Perhaps he will find some back bone after... more »

Misogyny
|

I'm having quite a heated debate about this in regards to the Catholic
church.
I belive that it is possibe for a Catholic male to hold the same
stance as his church re: the ordination of women and it stem not from
a place of contempt for woman.
Am I right?

The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious,
ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all
others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to
