At the recent "faith forum" McCain was asked when a baby acquires human rights. He said at the moment of conception, to bible thumping applause. Later, when asked what was the greatest moral failing of America in his lifetime, he spewed some nonsense about it being too selfish. No mention at all of the ongoing murder of 40 million babies and keeping countless other locked in freezers.

Well said, and spot on. In my view, Obama is a left wing phoney, McCain is faux conservative, and in a contest between these two, I will choose a 3rd party candidate.
Even if that means that Obama is elected, at least when things go terribly wrong, it will be difficult for the rad left to keep blaming conservatism. They will anyway, of course, but most Americans will see through that.
Hopefully, another Reagan will emerge. If not, we're done for. God help us.

It appears that the connection between the killing of the unborn to preserve the status of one's own life and the more general notion of selfishness was just too subtle for you.

Although, okay, I'm not into subtleties. My view on abortion is this:
There are times when abortion is necessary, times when it is not justified. But in almost every case, the unborn child deserves at the minimum, a modicum of due process, a voice speaking in the child's behalf, and a serious consideration by neutral parties as to whether the child's rights trump the mother's choice. Only then can abortion become the "rare" alternative that Clinton promised (he did not, of course, mean it).

Neil Bortzz is a Libertarian with a talk radio show. He being a Libertarian (as you have said you are) allows as much freedom of speech on his radio show as is possible to meet FCC guidelines. His one iron-clad rule is that men are not allowed to discuss abortion. There is a reason for this.
