Guys the last couple of days I was able to win several lots on Ebay of junk silver coins for under melt value. Monday and Tuesday both I got rolls of Walkers and quarters for under 12 times face. At 16.50 an ounce 12 times face is melt value. Then Tuesday afternoon silver jumped close to a buck an ounce.
Watch the shipping though and don't give back your bargain that way. I look first at free shipping and then look at low shipping costs and offset that from my buy price.

Be careful buying large silver bars on ebay (or anywhere else for that matter, I suppose). I read the other day the some have been found to be drilled out and filled with lead!

Ouch, that would suck. 80% of what I buy is junk silver coins. When I buy bullion it is usually through Northwest Territorial Mint.

i found the best deal in silver bars .. they are made in the shape of regular bricks .. same color .. same texture .. found em at Home Depot .. only about $10.25 each
you can hide em in your garage and no one knows you have em .
i got a letter from Nigeria directing me to a Somali clerk at the local Home Depot
just ask the clerk in "Building " section for the "special bricks" .. be sure to wink as you ask
Just when you think that youve been gypped ..the bearded lady comes and does a double back flip!!! John Hiatt in "Buffalo River Home"

Alim's been casting silver bullets. The ATF indictment has been delayed for months because they can't decide whether to describe him as a mental case who thinks he's the Lone Ranger or a mental case who thinks he's a vampire hunter.

Just curious, what kind of premium does the Northwest Territorial Mint charge over the spot price? I guess it depends on the amount you buy, but can you give an example?

I've been doing pretty well on ebay selling hollow lead bars that are filled with tap water.

The one ounce bars I buy are currently at 18.71 an ounce for 50-99, 18.46 and ounce for 100 to 499. It;s a bit lower than that the more you buy. Silver spot ask price toaday was 17.41 so somewhere around 5 and a half to 6 % for small quantities. Shipping is free though. 100 ounce bars are cheaper, but I don't like the big bars.
Silver coins off ebay are still the best buy. I can sometimes get them for under melt.
