Subject: 32 Teams Qualified for Bowls 11/2/09
Congratulations to the twenty-three Division I FBS teams that have
already met the minimum requirements for bowl eligibility by defeating
six FBS opponents and ensuring at least a .500 record (barring unlikely
division championship scenarios). They are:

Georgia Tech            Cincinnati              Pittsburgh
Iowa                    Penn State              Ohio State
Texas                   Houston                 Temple
Central Michigan        Texas Christian         Utah
Brigham Young           Oregon                  Southern Cal
Florida                 Alabama                 Louisiana State
Auburn                  Troy                    Boise State
Idaho                   Notre Dame

In addition, nine other teams have defeated five FBS opponents and one
FCS pansy. Under the current NCAA criteria, they are now bowl eligible
as well:

Boston College          Miami-FL                West Virginia
Wisconsin               Oklahoma State          Texas Tech
Ohio                    California              South Carolina

...but should anyone truly be proud of such an accomplishment?

79 other FBS teams still have a chance to qualify for a bowl berth in
some fashion or another. Already eliminated (barring unlikely conference
championship scenarios) are:

Rice                    Miami-OH                Akron
Ball State              Eastern Michigan        New Mexico
Washington State        Vanderbilt              Western Kentucky

A total of 68 teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision will participate in
bowl games this season.

Good luck!
