After three years of working from home and now since TSH is also working from home, the same home.....I've decided it's not as effective as it was with just me working from home. With me, I had free ATT DSL because TSH is a manager with them and we get it free. But with both of us here, I end using 3 PC on wireless and one on wire about a hundred feet away from her, and hers in on wire. I have to download and update images from Austin on wireless or at night because it slows hers down too much, as she deals with huge data files, some take an hour to download, unless I'm downloading too then it takes forever and neither of us is very efficient.
I ordered Road Runner cable modem today for me to use. But still, my fax machine is in her area and everytime I swap out a tablet I have to fax the paperwork to the state, but she's always on the phone, so I can't do it u ntil after 9PM as that's about when she's caught up for the day. The state fax closes at 8PM....Crap, I've prolly have to install anothe LL now too.
Not to mention I also had installed a BlueSky Sat system at the lake because she was gonna move out there and work from home. The VPN connection on the Sat systems really sucks and it was taking her all day just to download 1 file. So she moved back, but I'm stuck with the 80.00 a month for that shit.l..
Ain't technology great.
And to add insult to injury, after I mention all this shit to her, she says she will not go back to work out of the Dallas ATT office, so for me to deal with it.
Well, I did. I took 85 Viagra pills and dumped them in the trash next to where she sits at my fucking antique desk....The shit has and is gonna hit the fan.

I feel your pain (regarding the tax thing) since I became officially employed, but it still isn't worth it to me to work anyplace else. I get to wear fuzzy slippers and stuff.....

But you don't have a husband around trying to work too. You need double the resources to have a full office enviroment for 2 people.

5 cost 103.00 at the Pharmacy.
I bought 90 50mg plus 5 free 100mg from India for less than a hundred. I only use 25mg when I take them at all, so that's a bunch of blue woodies for sure.

This is true. I'm aggravated when Anna is home for a week and uses the wireless when I do....I always seem to lost my connection when she logs on, just enough to disconnect the VPN. (Then it re-connects...)

Do you have to wear the steel toe boots? Is it "work-ordered" for safety? I'd go nuts having to wear those all day.

Yep for safety reasons. You should see all the PPE (personal protective equipment) required at all times. A belt with a 'fanny pack' to hold your emergency respirator. A holder and radio, and you can see on facebook my hardhat. The hat (which sucks more then anything) weighs about 10lbs. It has mono-googles, ear protection, and 4 way light. Then if you climb anything over 3ft tall you have to wear a safety harness that loves to lock up and rack a guy multiple times a day.

For my next purchase..... I just found configuring my wireless modem to be a big PITA. Setting up the security password online, etc. I don't know why, but it irritated me more than anything else I've ever set up.

I'm running tomato(?) on all my WRTs. They ROXORS!
...and I never had VPN issues when I ran the Linksys OS.

I'm thinking you have WRT54G, right?
They're famous for having these odd VPN issues (IIRC, some of them will only allow one VPN at a time, as well).
I think if you flash the firmware with a more recent version (or use a third-party version of firmware like Tomato, as andrew suggested), it would clear this right up.
that's how to do it with tomato, but it's essentially the same to do it with a standard linksys firmware update - just point it to the linksys file instead, when you're at the "firmware upgrade" step and it has you browse to the upgrade.

This is correct. Flash it and fix it.
