It is not vigilantism when you off a guy randomly shooting people and
coming your way.

I do not support the death penalty, no.

But since the death penalty is a constitutional punishment within
Federal and Texas state law, I do not conclude that this guy will
survive his crimes.

Additionally, though I do not support the death penalty (because I
believe it is unequally applies and that there is to great a chance
that someone innocent will be executed), I will not mourn him.

With multiple murder counts, could he get both?  Court martial for the
military crimes, Federal court for the civilian crimes (that don't
overlap)?

Part of me likes the Military trial - if he doesn't get the death
penalty, there is the opportunity for hard labor and rations.

Aim for center mass, unless your a most excellent shot like me, then I
prefer the double tap to the area right between the eyes.

I do know that the FBI asked for help from the Texas Rangers and of
course the Governor oblidged.  Now we'll never know the real story.  The
Rangers get involved with other police depts when wrong doing is
suspected by law enforcement.  They even go to other states (when asked)
to do the same.
I'm not saying this is why, but it's usually why.  So this female rent a
cop is first on the scene, shoots the Alah Akbar asshole and he shoots
her.  Now, what if the have a bastard baby at home and she's getting
payback from the two timing sand rat?

I like my version best so far, I'm writing the screen play.

As I age I get a bit shaky. It's much easier to line up on a moving
target now than when my nerves were steady.

My first shot would always be for the mass. Knock him down first then
shoot him wherever and as often as you wish.

Tom Enright sent the following on 11/6/2009 9:34 PM:

From early on in your link: "We know he was a devout Muslim, took his
faith very seriously. We can't say, of course, that that was relevant,
here."

Not really.  All we have is one person's anecdotal evidence, and not
even *that* "evidence" attempts to claim that Hasan actually *advocated*
that sort of violence.  Instead, it only claims (anecdotally again) that
Hasan didn't explicitly refute it.

If you want to use this as "proof" that Hasan *himself* believed "that
infidels should be killed," knock yourself out.  My own standards for
proof are a bit higher than that.  And if this had been a Christian
extremist whose actions had a lot of people being quick to bash
Christianity, I have a feeling that you'd be singing a different tune
even as you were trying to get your panties untwisted.

Now you're really acting like an simplistic idiot.  Even your own link
above focused far more on stress and Hasan's impending deployment than
it spent on his religious faith, but for whatever reason, you decided
to latch onto the religious faith aspect of the story.  Why is that,
exactly?

In the end, I'm not denying that there aren't Muslim extremists in this
country at this moment.  OTOH, I'm not the least bit prepared to jump to
the conclusion that *any* act of violence committed by a Muslim in this
country must somehow be an extremist act based on his Muslim beliefs.
Sometimes faith is a secondary or tertiary consideration if it's a
consideration at all, as all evidence seemed to indicate at the time you
passed judgment on the guy and Islam.  That has perhaps changed a bit in
the past few days, although it's still far from a certainty, but you
couldn't have possibly known that when you were busy jumping the gun
back last Friday.
