Pardon me if this is RSFCC, but it's the first I've heard about the
death of Geocities. It's the end of an era in internet history. A
tacky poorly done era, but it's a bit sad none the less.

It also marks the final flush sending Yahoo's $3.57 billion dollars
down the toilet.

this is the first time i've heard of 'geocities' since circa 1998.
