Hmm.

They say he graduated from Virginia Tech. I wonder if he was in the corps?

Why was he even in the armed forces?  Did we pay for his education and
he was fulfilling a commitment?

Give it a rest. No one ever said this guy isn't a terrorist or doing
this for religious reasons. Everyone correctly pointed out that people
should claiming he is until we know what happened.
Strangely enough, many of the same people who weren't a big fan of

Yes.  The msnbc article I read last night said he had attended an (the?)

If he had been a Christian who yelled, "Father, forgive me," would a
bunch of Christian-bashing have followed?

Again, my early take on this is that the guy cracked for reasons only
tangentially related to his faith, and when, in that final moment, he
had fallen into the abyss, he fell back on something comfortable and
familiar to him.  But I'm not at all convinced that Islam was a focal
point in the development of this.  *A* factor, sure.  But his deployment
and his failure to get released from the service would both appear to be
much higher on the causal list.

I should hope not.

"Father, forgive me." would indicate that the person knew that what they
were doing was wrong.

I disagree.  He supported violence specifically directed at non-
Muslims, "infidels", prior to these murders.   He did not want to be
deployed because he felt he was on the wrong side.

Are you new around here?

A Catholic complaining about a TV program results in "Christian-
bashing."  I think a mass murder would get some people's attention.
