The evidence for Noah's flood is mounting. It is almost as high as the
mountain the ark came to rest on.

"Until recently there was not any solid scientific evidence to back
various theories pertaining to the origins of the Flood. The situation
changed in February following reports on a sensational discovery by
U.S. researchers. According to their study, the water which flooded
the planet came out from the depths of Earth. The researchers
discovered immense bodies of water below the earth’s surface."

Immence? Wowsa...wowsa.. wowsa.. as Ritchie Cunningham would say.

Heh. Wait a minuet. What did the bible mention about this?

"the fountains of the deep opened up"

Soon there will be as much circumstantial evidence for the flood as we
see for evolution!

ooopsie... oh darn... if the flood happened then the bible is true.
Which would mean some parts of evolution are false.

So far, that flood evidence is batting 0 for 0.

So, you lied when you said you were following the ways of Jesus?
Where does Jesus say it's okay to be an arrogant prick?

By the wonders of Google, we can find the source for this:

<http://www.ufodigest.com/news/0407/globalflood.html>

UFODigest,"UFO and Paranormal News From Around the World", November 7,
2009, "Huge oceans underneath Earth's surfacecaused global flood in
times of Noah, Translated by Guerman Grachev"

I didn't see a reference to the source that Grachev translated. From
the name, I'd guess that it was a Russian source. Maybe one of those
Russian tabloids?

The actual science has been distorted and amplified through re-telling
by superstitious people, who innocently but stupidly mix in what they
already "know" from religion.

I'll guess that the factual underpinning of this story is that there
does exist a 2006 paper
Lawrence, J. F., and M. E. Wysession, Seismic evidence for subduction-
transported water in the lower mantle, in Earth's Deep-Water Cycle,
AGU Monograph, 251-261, 2006.

> Soon there will be as much circumstantial evidence for the flood as we
> see for evolution!

This is the really cool and sensational part -- not just a big
discovery in geology, but a fantastic new principle of science. No
longer do we need actual evidence. Instead, we can look at a scrap of
evidence and *extrapolate* to what future evidence is *going to be*!

This will be really good news to researchers who, until now, spent
countless tedious hours checking their results, accumulating more data
when the statistics aren't quite strong enough to persuade the
skeptical, and who, more often than not, are disappointed and have
(until now) had to relinquish attractive theories because they just
turn out to be wrong.
